- Charles L. LaCelle, 51, Orwell, was dead on arrival Friday afternoon at Mercy Hospital, Watertown. The funeral will be Monday at 1 pm at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Rev. Ivan Greenfield, pastor, Orwell Union Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary J. Cole LaCelle: a son, James L., and three daughters, Christine L., Becky S., Mrs. Edwin (Christal) Ashby, all of Orwell; a granddaughter and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Helen) Hepler, Rome, and Mrs. Earl (Marjorie) Elkin, Melburne, Fla. Born Nov. 28. 1922, in Pulaski, a son of Everett and Edith Olin LaCelle, he entered the Army Jan.J, 1943, served in the Pacific Theater and was discharged Jan. 17, 1946. He married Mary J. Cole July 2, 1949 in Adams. He was employed 20 years by the New York Central Railroad and, in 1961, became employed by the Oswego County Highway Department.
