- Newspaper Obituary - March 1, 1967 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Funerals - Walter E. Phillips - Funeral services for Walter E. Phillips, Oswego Center, whose death occurred Monday, Feb. 27, were held today at 2 p.m., at the Dain funeral home, with the Rev. Stanley Vollmer, minister of Oswego Center Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Rural cemetery. Bearers were Donald Kelley, Charles Sabin, Edwin Smith, Fred Lockwood, Lyle Hutchinson and Robert Perkins.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 2, 1967 Wayuga Community Newspapers Inc - Deaths - Walter E. Phillips - Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. for Walter E. Phillips, 84, of Oswego Center. Rev. Stanley Vollmer, minister of Oswego Center Methodist Church officiated. Burial in rural cemetery. Mr. Phillips died at the Oswego Hospital where he was taken after being stricken at his home Monday morning. He was the husband of the late Blanche McLaughlin Phillips. Born in the Town of Hannibal, Oct. 6, 1882, he was the son of the late Henry and Amanda Phillips. Mr. Phillips had operated a farm in the Oswego Center area for many years. He was a member of Oswego Center Methodist Church, the Maccabee's Farm Bureau and a former member of Oswego Center Grange. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Reginald (Florence) Hoff of RedCreek; two sons, Walter H. Phillips, Oswego and Earl F. phillips of Oswego Town; seven grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
