      Obituary of Paul Hughes

      Paul Hughes, age 98 of Diamond, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010. He was born April 3, 1912, in Edinburg Township, Ohio, a son of the late Clyde and Ida (Cowell) Hughes. Paul was a veteran of the US Army and received the Purple Heart medal while serving in WWII. He retired from the Ravenna Arsenal as a heavy equipment operator. Survivors include his children: Emmett (Evelyn) Hughes of Alliance, Mary Hughes of Atwater, David Hughes of Atwater, Carol Hughes of Diamond, and Russell (Missy) Hughes of Ravenna; grandchildren: Cecil Towns, William Paul Hughes, Faith Hughes, and Stephanie Hughes. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Hughes, his daughter, Barbara Ann Hughes, his sister Lucille Barr, and his brothers Percy, Emmett, Harry, Charlie, Cecil, Norris, and Nelson Hughes. Friends will be received Friday, August 20, 2010, from 12:00 PM until the 1:00 PM funeral service at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna.
