      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, April 17, 1952 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Rosa Carpenter Dies In Hospital - Mrs. Rosa Carpenter, 74, widow of the late Charles Carpenter, died Thursday evening in the Crouse-Irving hospital in Syracuse, where she had been a patient only two days. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Foster funeral home with the Rev. K. L. Combs, pastor of the Orwell and Richland churches, officiating, with interment in the Evergreen cemetery at Orwell. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Granville Clifford, Altmar, and a son, Vernon Carpenter of Syracuse, a sister, Mrs. F. A. Hollenbeck, Norfolk, Virginia, and three grandchildren. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Boylston, November 3, 1877, daughter of Rufus and Nellie Baker Stevens. She married Mr. Carpenter, promoter of “Little America” in the Redfield section, and had lived all her life in the vicinity of Orwell and Redfield. Mr. Carpenter died November 25, 1950. Since his death she has made her home with her daughter.
