Relatives and friends are invited to funeral Thurs., 8:30 A.M. from her home, 4721 Chester ave. Solemn Requem Mass, St. Francis de Sales Church, 10 A.M. Friends may call Wed. eve.

      Newspaper Obituary - September 16, 1953 Philalphia Inquirer - Mrs. William P. Tinney - Solemn Requiem Mass for Mrs. Cecelia B. Tinney, wife of William P. Tinney, funeral director, will be sung at 10 A.M. tomorrow in the Church of St. Francis de Sales, 47th st. and Springfield ave. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. She was 76. Mrs. Tinney, who was a member of the Sodality of Blessed Virgin Mary of St. Francis Church, was a native of Plymouth, Pa. In addition to her husband, she is sruvived by three sons, the Rev. Nicholas J. Tinney, O.F.M., a teacher of Spanish and religion at Bishop Timons High School, Buffalo, N.Y., Edward J. and Francis J., and two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Urevick and Mrs. John J. O'Connor.

      Bridget Cecilia McBride (daughter of James McBride and Elizabeth Taylor) was born 04 Apr 1879 in Lost Creek, PA, USA411, and died 12 Sep 1953 in Philadelphia, PA, USA411. She married William Patrick Tinney on 1905 in Saint Francis Xavier, Philadelphia PA, son of Edward Tinney and Mary McFadden.

      She was raised in Plymouth, Pa, a suburb of Wilkes Barre. She had a brother John Kennedy who was the father of Mary Kennedy Zeiser (Mame) who was married to Tom.

      Baptized as Bridgette. Nuns told her to use her middle name and she did in sixth grade.
      Called her husband, "Old thing". He called her Ceily or nothing. He would rap the table.

      She delivered dresses for her aunt to rich people. Started by picking up pins.

      They lived at 743 S. 20 Street for several years. They are there during the census of 1910.

      2. Second house 4721 Chester Ave (She bought it at auction) 21 room house. 1 floor was business

      She always had "help", some of whom were relatives. Some lives in were Annie Reeder (Relative), Margaret Mc Crossan (Relative),

      Visitors (relatives) included Hughie Mulligan, Bob McKeown who had son named Brother Chrystom, O.F.M., who died right before Charles entered the order.

      Father James McLouskey, Diocese of Patterson New Jersey, connection to Muzzie. There was another Father James McClusky, CM, originally Vincentian priest, Wilkes Barre area. Went to Japan, under Japanese Bishop in Osaka, was interned during WWII and considered a spy by both the Japanese and Americans because he spoke both languages. He eventually returned to this country.

      Census of 1910 shows that her mother was born in Ireland.
