For over a third of a century she had made her home there most of the time with her son William, for whom she was housekeeper until she was taken ill some four months ago and who gave her the most tender care during this illness. Her children and grandchildren to the fifth generation respected her for her womanly qualities and none ever heard her complain or find fault with those about her. Mrs. Mary Stowell, Allan and Rufus Stevens of Orwell, William Stevens and Mrs. Etta Cummins of Boylston. The funeral was held at the family home Friday, Rev. Walter Clement officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery at Orwell. It will be recalled that her daughter, Mrs. Henry Dunbar, died 3 weeks ago and that she was taken ill while on her way to visit her mother. Before the death of Mr. Stevens the family resided in Lorraine for a decade and later in Mexico.
