Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 10, 1947 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Oren Carpenter Dies at Orwell - Oren H. Carpenter, 70, died at his home in Orwell Wednesday afternoon, July 2, after a long illness. He was born March 13, 1877, in Constable, son of Ezra and Mary McKenna Carpenter. He had made his home in Orwell for 42 years coming there following his marriage to Miss Mary Witt. He was engaged in farming on the former grant Potter Was grant farm until his retirement a few years ago, and was a member of the Orwell Lodge of the Odd Fellows and the Pulaski Grange. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Harold J. of Orwell and Kenneth M. Carpenter of Pulaski; a sister, Miss Blanche Carpenter, of Owls Head, and two brothers, Albert of Malone and Wilbur Carpenter of Plattsburg. Services were held at the home at 2 p.m. Saturday with I.O.O.F. services at the grave in Evergreen cemetery, Orwell.
