Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 25, 1993 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Ward D. Stevens Dies in Oswego At Age 65 - Ward D. Stevens, 65, Route 11, died Wednesday at Oswego Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with Pastor Michael Brown officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Sandy Creek Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Marion R.; three sons, Deral W., Williamstown, Bruce P., Orwell, and William J., Pierrepont Manor; five daughters, Freda May Trumble and Carol L. Ingersoll, both of Williamstown, Roxanna J. Haywood and Ethel E. Hilton, both of Altmar, and Mary Lou Rogers, Mannsville; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond, Moravia, and Leroy and Charles, both of Auburn; and two sisters, Grace Rydelick, Central Square, and Doris Kelly, Moravia. Born in Williamstown, September 5, 1927, a son of Donald and Brittie Wallace Stevens, he attended Pulaski schools and married Marion Britton on February 23, 1947. Mr. Stevens had lived in Sandy Creek the past three years. He had previously lived in Altmar for 23 years and in the Richland area for many years. He was employed by Camden Wire Company, retiring in 1980. He had previously been employed by Owl Wire Company, Canastota, and had worked for the New York Central Railroad for many years. He was a member of the Richland Church of Christ.
