      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, May 12, 1915 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Orwell - Erwin S. Beecher died Monday evening, May 3rd, after a long period of illness. He was the youngest son of William and Celia Beecher and was born in this town May 19, 1848. For many years Mr. Beecher was extensively engaged in the lumber business. In 1879 he went into the mercantile business and conducted a general store until about seven years ago when he retired because of ill health. He held the office of justice of the peace in this town several terms and in 1886 served as supervisor. He is survived by his wife, one niece and five nephews. The funeral services were conducted in his late home Thursday afternoon May 6, by Rev. S. H. Stokes, assisted by Rev. T. T. Davies. Friends from out of town who attended the funeral were Erwin Beecher, Jr., of New York, Mattison Beecher, Mr. and Mrs. Ameth Beecher, of Syracuse, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hubbard, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Keyes, A. B. Woolever, of Pulaski, Mrs. Kate Salisbury, Lacona and William Fellows, of Lowville. Burial was made in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery.
