Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, October 3, 1973 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Carl Clement Expires at 73 - funeral services for Carl H. Clement, 73, were held Friday in the Arthur R. Schaefer funeral home in Shortsville. The Rev. Kinner, a former pastor of the Manchester Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery in Orwell. He died Tuesday, September 25, 1973, at the Clifton Springs hospital after an illness of several months. Mr. Clement owned and operated a meat market in Shortsville for 32 years. He was a past master of the Garoga Lodge No. 300 of Clifton Springs, Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Parlor Village IOOF, a member of the Rebekah Lodge, past president of the Twin Cities Lyons Club, former member of the village board, and a past secretary of the Shortsville fire Department. He was also a supervisor at the Town of Manchester for one and a half terms. He was employed by the Ontario County Sheriff's Department for eight years. He is survived by his wife, Nina Moore; two brothers, J. D. of Lacona and Durl of Sandy Creek; one sister, Mrs. Don Elkin of Orwell; and several nieces and nephews.
