    • Nelson B. Clifford - October 14, 1863 - October 12, 1937. Son of George W. and Elizabeth Jane VanWormer Clifford. Husband of Julia Ann Brown Clifford. Married December 31, 1887 in Redfield Township, Oswego County, New York.
      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, October 20, 1937 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Redfield - Funeral services for Mr. Nelson Clifford, aged 74 years, were held from the family home at North Redfield on Sunday afternoon and from Orwell church. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Orwell. He had suffered from heart trouble for some time. Mr. Clifford was born in Mexico, but had spent most of his life in Greenboro. For many years he kept a boarding house where the Mad River club is now located. He moved to the old Cottrell Hotel about 30 years ago. He married Miss Julia Brown, who died in 1929. To them were born 8 children, 7 of whom survive, Grover of Wharton, Texas, Albert of Syracuse, Grandville of Orwell, Mrs. Maud Dempsey of Oswego, Mrs. Lucy Walters of Depauville, Mrs. Emma Clemons and Mrs. Corinne Hassler of Greenboro. Another son, Claude, a twin to Mrs. Dempsey was killed by a train in Rochester several years ago.
