Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 9, 1956 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Clement of Orwell Dies - Last rites for Mrs. Esther P. Clement, 83, widow of the Rev. Walter Clement, were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Orwell Union Church. The Rev. Wesley Baker and the Rev. Leland Webster officiated. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Clement died Thursday in the Evergreen Nursing Home at Williamstown. The bearers for the service were members of the Clement Fellowship class of Taberg, which was named in honor of Rev. Clement who was pastor of the Taberg Church for 13 years. They were: Earl Hall, George Hall, Donald MacFarland, Elmer Kilbourn, Harry W. Brown and Lynn White. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Donald Elkin of Orwell; three sons, J. D. Clement, of Lacona, Carl Clement of Shortsville and Dural Clement of Sandy Creek; five grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Mrs. Clement was born at Altmar, October 9, 1872 the daughter of John and Rhoda Stowell Prouty. She was married to Rev. Clement at Altmar in 1891. He died December 2, 1935. She was a member of the Orwell Union Church, the W.C.T.U., Willing Workers class of the Orwell Church and of the Rebekah Lodge at Shortsville. The display of floral tributes exemplified the esteem in which she was held by her many friends and admirers. Members of the Orwell Rebekah Lodge attended the services in a body.
