Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, January 1, 1953 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Belva Balch Dies at Bennett’s Bridges - Mrs. Belva E. Balch, 53, widow of Russell Balch, died Monday evening at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harold Kaine at Bennett’s Bridges. She had been in poor health for some time and had been residing with her sister the past several months, prior to which she had lived at Altmar. Funeral services will be held at the Altmar Methodist church Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harley S. Hill, officiating. There will be a prayer at the Brown funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery at Orwell. Surviving besides her sister, Mrs. Kaine, are three daughters, Mrs. Nerine Clemons of Orwell, Mrs. Marion Allen of Altmar and Mrs. Faylene Britton of Williamstown; one son, Roland Balch of Syracuse; three other sisters, Mrs. Etta Baulch [sic] of Schuyler Lake and Mrs. Emma Miller of Altmar and Mrs. Orma Bliss of Weldon, California; three brothers, Eugene Wiggins of Altmar and Harry and Niles Wiggins of San Jose, California; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Balch was born in Orwell August 7, 1899, daughter of Thomas and Phielna Bellows Wiggins [sic]. She had lived in that vicinity all her life. She was a member of the Altmar Methodist church.
