Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 25, 1929 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Orwell Man Dies Suddenly - A wave of sadness spread over the people of this community when word came Saturday evening, September 21, of the passing of Herbert D. Clement, who had been suffering two days from asthma. He was born on November 5, 1881, a son of Mrs. Rhoda A. Clement and the late Daniel Clement. He was united in marriage with Miss Nellie Wood of Pulaski, October 31, 1912, by Rev. T. T. Davies of Sandy Creek. He is survived by his wife and two sons, William and Charles Clement, his aged mother, Mrs. Rhoda Clement of Orwell, a half-brother, Walter Prouty of Altmar; a half-sister and his cousin Rev. W. B. Clement of Taberg; and by many other sorrowing relatives and friends. Herbert D. Clement was a man who will be much missed in this town where he spent many years engaged in successful farming. His jovial manner won for him a host of friends, who were sure of a merry, good time, when in his presence. He was a member of Orwell Rebekah Lodge No. 236, Welcome Lodge No. 680, I.O.O.F., and at the time of his demise, held the office of Justice of the Peace. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of Orwell Union School. The funeral service will be conducted this afternoon by Rev. T. T. Davies and burial made in Evergreen cemetery
