Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, May 1, 1946 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Joseph Castor - Joseph Castor, 88, for many years a resident of Sandy Creek in vicinity, died April 19, 1946 at the home of Mrs. Mamie Castor, Ricard, where he had been staying since February. He was born in Jefferson County August 11, 1857, son of Henry and Cynthia Slater Castor. He had been a farmer by occupation. Surviving are a son, Earl Castor, Altmar; two daughters, Mrs. Clark Cumins [sic], Pulaski, and Mrs. Earl Lester, Richland; Mrs. Ellen Ostrander, Watertown, and Mrs. Eliza peters, Pierrepont Manor, and one brother, William Castor, Dugway. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Foster funeral home, Pulaski, by Rev. Donald M. Cobb, Richland Methodist church.
