Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 21, 1957 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Reuben Hilton Rites Are Held - Last rites for Reuben H. Hilton, 75, retired farmer of the Fox district, were held Sunday at the Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. W. Russell Clark, pastor of Park Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Orwell. Masonic services were conducted at the funeral home Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Four nephews including Brainard Hilton, Harold Greenfield, Hilton Barker and Ed Bohanon, also Roy Ellis and Horace Farrington acted as bearers. Mr. Hilton died Thursday noon at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Watertown where he had been a patient since February 25. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. M. Belle Potter Hilton; a daughter, Mrs. James (Dana) LeClair, of this village; four granddaughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Shirley) Mamele of Osceola, Patricia, Bette and Linda LeClair of Pulaski; one great-grandson, James Mamele of Osceola; two sisters, Mrs. Amy Barker of Parish and Mrs. Ben (Sadie) Bohanon of Orwell, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hilton was born in Orwell on February 13, 1882, the son of Harvey S. and Ella Powers Hilton. His early life was spent in that vicinity until his marriage to Miss M. Belle Potter on April 25, 1907. Following his marriage he came to the Fox district on the Centerville road where he was engaged in dairy farming until 11 years ago, when he retired and moved into the village. Mr. Hilton was engaged in breeding Holstein cattle for many years and at one time owned several purebreds of this strain. He was a member of Park Methodist Church for 50 years, a 30-year member of Pulaski Masonic Lodge, 415, F. & A.M. and a member of Pulaski Grange of long-standing.
