Newspaper Obituary - Sunday, February 6, 1994 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Gordon “Buzz” Dana, Orwell, Dies at Age of 49 - Gordon "Buzz" Dana, 49, County Route 50, died Saturday morning at Oswego Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Thomas Howell, pastor of the Vorea Community Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Surviving are his wife, Carole; three sons, Michael B., Sandy Creek, and Ronald W. and Eric A., both of Orwell; his parents, Harrison and Mildred Roberts Dana, Sandy Pond; three brothers, Robert, Providence, R.I., Richard, Altmar, and Gerald, Sandy Pond; two sisters, Janet England, Mannsville, and Janelle Bettinger, Pulaski, and four grandchildren. A son, Matthew, died in 1980. Born January 6, 1945, in the town of Sandy Creek, he attended Sandy Creek schools and married Carole Armstrong March 13, 1965, in the Altmar Methodist Church with the Rev. Nelson Reppert officiating. Mr. Dana served in the Army from 1962 to 1964. He was employed by the Oswego County Department of Solid Waste for the past 16 years. He was previously employed by Camden Wire for several years. Mr. Dana resided in the Orwell/Sandy Creek area all his life. He was a member of Russell Tryon American Legion Post 1345.
