      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, November 11, 1954 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Claude Hilton Dies in Ohio - Claude R. Hilton, 70, former resident of Pulaski, died suddenly in Ashtabula, Ohio, Monday morning where he had resided since September 1. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Winnifred Matthews of Oswego; two sisters, Mrs. Benjamin (Sadie) Bohanon of Orwell and Mrs. Amy Barker of Parish; a brother, Rueben H. Hilton of Pulaski and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hilton was born February 5, 1884, in Orwell the son of Harvey S. and Ella F. Powers Hilton. He was educated in the Orwell school and had spent his entire life in the vicinity of Orwell and Pulaski as a farmer except for a few years when he worked in Ashtabula, Ohio quite some time ago. He was twice married, first to Nellie Plummer who died in 1923 and later to Harriett Platt whose death occurred in July 1953. He was a member of the Pulaski Grange. Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 2 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home by the Rev. James N. Pauley. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery at Orwell
