Wife of Nathan Averill Butts (married June 28, 1891 in Albion Township, Oswego County, New York) & William Duane Damon (married October 14, 1914 at Pulaski, New York.) [Notes: Nathan Butts was born September 23, 1851 in Peru, Massachusetts, a son of Nathan O. and Marilla A. Crane Butts. Nathan died May 2, 1914 at Pulaski, New York, and is buried with his parents in Riverside Cemetery at Altmar, Oswego County, New York.]
Newspaper Obituary - Monday, September 10, 1962 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mrs. Susan E. Butts - Watertown - Funeral services for Mrs. Susan E. Butts Damon, 89, widow of William D. Damon of Syracuse and native of Centerville, Oswego county, were held this afternoon in the Northam & Fox funeral home here with burial in the Orwell cemetery. Mrs. Damon of Lockport, died in the Buffalo State hospital Friday morning where she had been a patient 10 days. Death was due to infirmities of old age. She had resided for nearly six years in the Odd Fellows Home at Lockport. She was born at Centerville, near Richland, May 26, 1873, a daughter of Charles and Julia Storms Pattengill [sic]. Most of her life was spent in the vicinity of Pulaski, Richland and Orwell. Her first husband, Nathan Butts, died about 1912. Later, she was married to William D. Damon. They lived in Pulaski before moving to Syracuse, where he died about 1955. Mrs. Damon came to this city from Syracuse to live with her son, Charles A. Butts, then of Watertown, after her husband died. She remained here until she moved to the Odd Fellows home in Lockport in October, 1956. She was a member of the Baptist church of Pulaski and of Twilight Rebekah lodge of Syracuse. Surviving her are two children, Charles A. Butts, Stuart, Florida, born of her first marriage, and Mrs. Stanley (Marie Damon) Gardner, Los Angeles, California, born of her second marriage, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
