Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 4, 2013 The Ledger - Lakeland, Florida - Jean Merle Hilton, 83, Cafeteria Manager - Lakeland - Jean M. Hilton, 83, was born in Orwell, New York on December 22, 1929. She passed away, December 2, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to heart failure. Jean was the cafeteria manager at Crystal Lake Elementary School. She worked for the school system for over 22 years. She was a member of Scott Lake Baptist Church. Jean is preceded in death by her husband Melvin, and brother, Louis Cole. She is survived by her daughters, Melva Leynes (Richard), Yvonne Still (William), and Colleen A. Horger (Scott), son, Lance Hilton, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5 from 3-4pm with a memorial service to follow at 4pm at Scott Lake Baptist Church.
