Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, January 18, 1951 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Mrs. Jasper Finster, 66, Dies at Orwell Home - Mrs. Lula B. Finster, 66, wife of Jasper J. Finster, died Sunday morning, January 14, 1951 at her home in Orwell following an illness of several months and hospitalization in Syracuse. Funeral services were held from the home in Orwell Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth L. Combs, pastor of the Orwell Union church, assisted by Dr. Ernest Otter, pastor of the Furman Street Methodist Church of Syracuse, officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen cemetery at Orwell. - Surviving Relatives - Surviving besides her husband are one daughter, Mrs. Edward Rutherford, Syracuse; two sons, Robert and Clifford Finster of Orwell; one brother, Lee Stowell, Orwell and 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Finster was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, January 22, 1885, daughter of Frank and Ella Near March. She married Mr. Finster in 1901 and had made her home in Orwell and vicinity since that time. She was a member of the Orwell Union church, the W.S.C.S. and Gleaners class of the church, the Orwell Rebekah and the Orwell W.C.T.U.
