Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 3, 1966 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Rites Today for Nellie Clement - Services for Mrs. Nellie Woods Clement, 84, widow of Herbert Clement, will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank A. Halser, Jr., pastor of Park Methodist Church, will officiate. The body will be placed in the Pulaski Cemetery vault for burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Orwell in the spring. The American Legions plan to attend in a group. Mrs. Clement died Monday at the Evergreen Nursing Home where she had been a patient since December 26. She had been in poor health for several years. A Gold Star Mother, she is survived by one son, William D. Clement of Pulaski, with whom she has made her home for some time; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. A son, Charles died March 10, 1945 in Iwo Jima. Mrs. Clement was born October 2, 1881 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of William and Phoebe Bennett Woods. She moved to the Pulaski area at the age of four years and attended Pulaski High School. She was married to Mr. Clement in 1913 whose death occurred in 1929. Following his death she remained on the farm near Orwell, which they had operated all their married life, and worked as a cook at the Orwell County Sanatorium. She came to Pulaski to live in 1948.
