Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 8, 1964 Palladium-Times - Oswego, New York - Earl J. Damon - Syracuse - Earl John Damon, 76, of 143 Hudson Street, a retired decorator, died yesterday in the Veterans Administration Hospital. A native of Orwell, Mr. Damon lived in Syracuse 20 years and served with the 309th Field Artillery in World War I. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Janet Jones of Buffalo; a brother, Ray W. Damon; three sisters, Mrs. Edythe Collins and Miss Bessie Damon, both of Syracuse, and Mrs. Marie Gardner of Reseda, California; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Greenleaf Funeral Home, 503 West Onondaga Street, the Rev. Peter B. Tomkins officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
