[Note: Although his name appears on a stone in this cemetery with his parents, Roy is buried with Ruth in Boylston-Sandy Creek Wesleyan Cemetery in Lacona, Oswego County, New York.] [Notes: Ruth Stowell was born July 23, 1922 in Lacona, New York, a daughter of Leon Hunt and Elizabeth Helen Shafty Stowell. Ruth died August 28, 1969 in Buffalo, New York.] [Notes: Betty Simmons was born August 13, 1922 in Ellisburg, Jefferson County, New York, a daughter of James and Edna Mae Pierce Simmons. Betty was first married to Edward Tifft in 1946, that marriage ended in divorce. Betty died March 28, 1996, she was cremated and the location of her ashes is unknown.]
Newspaper Obituary - Sunday, August 16, 1992 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Roy E. Pennock, 72, Dies of Heart Attack - A memorial service for Roy E. Pennock, 72, Elms Road, will be at the convenience of the family. The body was cremated. Mr. Pennock died at 12:30 p.m. Friday at his home of a heart attack. He had been in failing health. Arrangements are with the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Contributions may be made to the Orwell Union Church, the Friendship Shop here or Northern Oswego County Ambulance, Pulaski. He is survived by his wife, Betty; a son, Ray, Lacona; three daughters, Kathie Carpenter, Phoenix, Arizona; Beth Davis, Bergholz, Ohio; Bonnie Russell, Canton; a sister, Gladys Pennock, Carthage; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren. He was born May 15, 1920, in Orwell, son of L. D. and Mary Kusbob Pennock. He graduated from Sandy Creek Central School in 1937, and went to work for Agway Inc. in Lacona in 1938. When he retired in 1981 he was working out of the Syracuse office. Mr. Pennock served with the Army in the European theater during World War II. He married Ruth Stowell on June 14, 1941. She died in 1969. He then married Betty Simmons, and the couple had lived on Elms Road for the past 17 years.
