Hilton, 66, of Lakeland, Florida, died Saturday at the home of his brother in Orwell after a long illness. He was born in Orwell and lived in Florida for the past 35 years. He worked as a machinist for the Crown Cork and Seal Company of Bartow, Florida. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of the Orange Blossom Basha of the China, Burma and India Veterans Organization. He was a member of the Orwell Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Jean; a son, Lance Hilton of Lakeland, Florida; three daughters, Melva Laynes and Yvonne Still, both of Lakeland, Florida, and Colleen Hilton of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Jack Hilton of Orwell; a sister, Joyce Watson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Evergreen Cemetery in Orwell. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to Oswego County Hospice or to the Orwell United Methodist Church. Traub Funeral Home, Central Square, is in charge of arrangements.

      Melvin M. Hilton, 66, of Lakeland, Fla., died Saturday at the home of his brother in Orwell after a long illness.

      He was born in Orwell and lived in Florida for the past 35 years. He worked as a machinist for the Crown Cork and Seal Co. of Bartow, Fla.

      He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of the Orange Blossom Basha of the China, Burma and India Veterans Organization.

      He was a member of the Orwell Methodist Church.
