    • Rosetta Wart Hilton - September 16, 1864 - October 11, 1962. Daughter of William Walter and Nancy Jane Sheeley Wart. Wife of John Josiah Hilton.
      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 18, 1962 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Mrs. John Hilton Lived to be 98 - Mrs. Rosetta Hilton, 98, died October 11, 1962 in the Evergreens Nursing Home in Mannsville. She had been a patient there for 15 days. She was born September 16, 1864 in the town of Albion, a daughter of William and Nancy Sheeley Wart. June 28, 1885 she married John Hilton, most of their life been spent at Vorea in the town of Orwell. He died in 1934. Mrs. Hilton later lived in Syracuse with a daughter, Mrs. Albert Coling. - A Rebekah Many Years - She was a charter member of Orwell Rebekah Lodge and a past noble grand. She was believed to be the oldest living Rebekah in the United States. She was also a member of the Eastern Star; a member of the Dutch Settlers Society of Albany and of the New York State Huguenot Society. She had been a member of Vorea Community Church of Christ since 1898. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon in Orwell Community church, with the Rev. Donald Hulbert pastor of the Community Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Orwell. Surviving besides her daughter, Mrs. Coling, are another daughter, Mrs. Altha Ames of Marathon; three sons, Ora of Canandaigua; Clarence of Syracuse and Fay Hilton of Sandy Pond; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Adolph Dormyer of Minetto is living.
