      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, November 8, 1990 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Vera A. Armstrong, Ex- Village Clerk, Dies - Vera A. Armstrong, 68, of 9334 Mexico Street, died Tuesday at her home. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Contributions may be made to the Altmar Riverside United Methodist Church or the Oswego County Hospice, in care of Pulaski Court House. Surviving are her husband, Arnold E.; a son, David A., Potsdam; two daughters, Carole E. Dana, Orwell, and Merilee A. Heath, Parker, Colorado; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, James B. Bernard Jr., Altmar; two sisters, Clara Crim, Tallahassee, Florida, and Eleanor Gillette, Rochester. Born April 17, 1922, in Altmar, daughter of James. B. and Gladys House Barnard Sr., she was a 1939 graduate of Altmar High School and attended Central City Business Institute, Syracuse. A life resident of Altmar, she served several years as the Altmar village clerk. She was employed by Oswego County Mutual Insurance Company, Parish, and previously was employed by Better Farms Publishing and the Altmar High School. Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the Altmar Riverside United Methodist Church and the auxiliary of the Russell Tryon American Legion Post.
