      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, March 30, 1977 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Bruce Nelson, Orwell native, dies - Bruce W. Nelson, 79, of 1024 West Embargo Street, Rome, New York, passed away on Wednesday, March 23 in Rose Hospital after a long illness. He was born on January 4, 1898 in Orwell, the son of Dr. and Mrs. George W. and Lillie Milkins Nelson. In 1910 [sic], he married May Edwards who died in 1960. In 1969, he married Evelyn Stevens in Weltonville. Mr. Nelson resided in Rome, New York since 1926 where he was employed by Revere Copper and Brass from which he retired in 1962. He also operated a farm in west Rome. Educated in Orwell schools, Mr. Nelson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rome. Surviving besides his wife are: one daughter, Mrs. S. J. Mary Nickele of San Jose, California; one son, David B. Nelson of Schenectady; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One brother, Carroll, died in 1954.
