  Mary E. Neal Himes - September 4, 1845 - July 22, 1915. Daughter of John and Betsey Hancock Neal. Wife of John Leland Himes. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, July 28, 1915 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. John L. Himes - After months of suffering Mary E., wife of John L. Himes, died Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Kate Himes, of this village, aged 70 years. Mrs. Himes was born in Parishville, St. Lawrence County. She spent much of her life in the town of Orwell, coming to this village several months ago where her daughter Kate and son, Harry, have cared for her. She leaves, besides her husband, five children, J. L. Himes of New York; Kate and Harry, of Pulaski; Bert and Dewitt, of Orwell. The funeral was held from the home of her daughter, Sunday at two o'clock, Rev. H. D. B. MacNeil officiating. Burial took place in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.
