    • Rose Catherine Shepard Hilton - September 7, 1859 - October 25, 1939. Daughter of Albert and Piera Mitchell Shepard. Wife of Hobart Hilton.
      Newspaper Obituary -Wednesday, November 1, 1939 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Mrs. Rose Hilton - Mrs. Rose Hilton, widow of Hobart Hilton, died Wednesday morning, October 25, 1939 in Crouse-Irving hospital, Syracuse. She had been a patient there since July. Her home was in Orwell. Mrs. Hilton was born in Altmar September 7, 1859, the daughter of Albert and Phylia Mitchell Shepherd [sic]. She was a member of the Union church of Orwell and a member of the WCTU. She is survived by four children, Mrs. Ada Davies of Berkeley, California; Mrs. Lloyd Archibee of Orwell; Carl Hayworth of East Syracuse, and Whiting Hilton of Orwell. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, Whiting Hilton, and later in the Union church, Rev. Charles T. Martin officiated. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Orwell.
