Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, March 18, 1903 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Loren B. Davis - The funeral of Loren B. Davis was held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur E. Olmstead, Orwell, New York, Monday afternoon, March 9, Revs. W. H. Seed and T. T. Davies officiating. He had passed away in the afternoon of the previous Friday. He was born near Steuben Corners, Oneida County, in 1832, a descendent of Curnal Davis, who was a man of wealth and great political influence in the early days of the American Revolution. Early in life he moved to Coalwater, Michigan, where he engaged in farming and mercantile business. In 1854 he was married to Miss Julia Wright, who soon died after moving to Orwell some twenty years ago. Two children blessed their union, of home Mrs. A. E. Olmstead survives and at whose home he was lovingly cared for and made comfortable, during his declining years. His death was caused by a complication of diseases, resulting in a general breaking down of the system. Interment in Evergreen cemetery. The departed was a man well thought of by those who knew him, trusted and respected on account of his uprightness and integrity. His nature was kind and sympathetic and in his character he exemplified those traits essential to real manhood.
