      Research by Julie Litts Robst - Notes found in a book that was turned into a scrap book at the Pulaski Historical Society - There was more entries on pages in the book, but had been covered over with newspaper articles from the Pulaski Democrat Newspaper. Author of this sketch is unknown. "Ethel Stewart was a descendant of this family. He settled at Petersburg, N. Y., married Esther Thurber. He signed a note with Morgan Thurber (a nephew of his wife) who failed to pay and he had to sell his farm to pay the debt, with what he had left he came to Williamstown, N. Y. The story goes that Morgan Thurber went further west, he killed a young Indian squaw, the Indians catched him and skinned him alive.Ethel Stewart is said to have helped build the first Baptist Church in Petersburg. His wife was very religious, always putting aside her work at sun down Saturday night and resuming it at sun down Sunday night. He was a man respected by all for he is called Esquire Stewart where he is mention in old histories. He was 81 years old when he died. Suppose to be buried somewhere in Oswego County.
