    • Hannah Maria Whitney Babcock - 1843 - April 22, 1916. Daughter of Foy D. and Sarah “Sally” Lewis Whitney. Wife of Charles A. Babcock.
Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 26, 1916 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Hannah Babcock - Mrs. Hannah M. Mabcock [sic], relict of Charles Babcock, passed away suddenly Saturday morning, April 22nd, from heart disease. At seven o'clock her son, Fred Babcock, went to her home, but did not enter the house because the door was locked. This did not alarm him as he thought she might be dressing and he went to his mill as usual. At one o'clock he again went to her house and on finding the door still locked, he entered a window, discovered her lying dead on the floor near the door. It is supposed when she heard him at the door, that she hurried from the kitchen, where she had been preparing her breakfast, to open the door for him, but died just as she reached the door. Mrs. Babcock, who was about seventy years of age is survived by her son Fred Babcock, two grandchildren, two sisters, nieces and a nephew. For many years Mrs. Babcock has been a member of Orwell Grange and was nearly always present at the meetings. The funeral services were held in the church, Tuesday afternoon and burial made beside her husband in Evergreen Cemetery.
