COLEMAN - SHEET METAL WORKER - A prayer service for Paul Francis Coleman, 81, formerly of Watertown, will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Steven M. Murray, pastor of Holy Family Church, officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Mr. Coleman died Friday in Sweetwater (Texas) Healthcare Center. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Coleman was a sheet metal worker at Syracuse University before moving in 1977 to Texas. Born Sept. 16, 1923, in Watertown, son of Daniel A. and Margaret G. Carlin Coleman, he attended Watertown schools, including the Watertown School of Commerce. He served in the 337th Bomb Squad in the Army Air Forces from February 1943 until he was discharged as a sergeant in November 1945. He worked at New York Air Brake Co. before serving in the Air Force from October 1951 to September 1953 during the Korean War. Surviving are three brothers, Patrick and James, both of Watertown, and Michael, Harlem, Ga.; three sisters, Mary Jane Deline, Ormond Beach, Fla., Carolyn Pratt, Watertown, and Korleen Taylor, Adams Center, and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Daniel and Joseph, and two sisters, Margaret Peckham and Rita Deline, died before him. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
