    • Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, June 9, 1955 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - R. Stewart Rites Richland, Today - Funeral services are to be held today at 2 p.m. at the Richland Church of Christ for Robert Stewart, 55, with Rev. George Murray, pastor of the Fonda Reform Church officiating. A prayer service was held Wednesday evening at his home in Fonda. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery, with full military rites by Robert Edwards Post 358, American Legion of Pulaski. Mr. Stewart had been in good health and had worked Monday at his job with the New York Central railroad. He was stricken with a heart attack Monday evening at his home. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Doris Otis Stewart; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene McGrath, Syracuse; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Harrington, Rome. Mr. Stewart was born July 3, 1899, at Pulaski, a son of Fred B. and Ida Barber Stewart. He attended Pulaski schools and enlisted in the army, serving 16 months in Europe during World War I. An employee of the New York Central railroad, in 1942 Mr. Stewart was made assistant supervisor of tracks at Remsen. He moved to Fonda as supervisor of tracks in 1953. He was a member of the Richland Church of Christ, the American Railway Supervisors association, Robert Edwards Post 358, American Legion of Pulaski, Pulaski Lodge 415, F. & A. M., and the Fonda Community Service Club.
