A prayer service for Joseph Peter Coleman, 66, Military Road, will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church, Watertown. Burial will be in Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium.
Calling hours were scheduled for 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Coleman died Saturday evening at his home, where he had been under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County Inc.
Born Aug. 4, 1932, in Watertown, the son of Daniel A. and Margaret G. Carlin Coleman, he attended Immaculate Heart Academy, Watertown, and served in the Navy as a petty officer third class during the Korean War. He was stationed in Norfolk, Va., aboard the ship USS Cadmus.
He married Shirley J. Jewett on May 17, 1952, in the rectory of St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Frederick P. Diviney, then pastor, officiating.
Mr. Coleman was an automobile mechanic for 35 years, retiring as shop foreman at Riverfront Motors, Clayton. He was also employed for several years at Northrop Motor Co., Watertown, and Lofink Motor Co., Carthage.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Joseph Jr., Watertown, and Christopher, Clifton Park; four daughters, Mrs. Mark (Mary Anne) Petranchuk, North Syracuse, Mrs. Alan (Barbara) Miller, Scottsville, Vicky Coleman, Oswego, and Mrs. Timothy (Lucille) Eiss, Brownville; four brothers, Paul, Texas, Michael, Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Patrick and James, both of Watertown; three sisters, Mary Jane Deline, Ormond Beach, Fla., Carolyn Pratt, Watertown, and Corky Taylor, Adams Center; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brother, Daniel, and two sisters, Margaret Peckham and Rita Deline, died before him.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County Inc., 425 Washington St., Watertown, N.Y. 13601.

The following published correction appeared Tuesday, Aug. 18, on page 27 of both editions:
Due to an error by a Times employee, information was omitted from the obituary for Joseph Peter Coleman, 66, Military Road, that ran in Monday's edition.
Mr. Coleman is also survived by 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He died Saturday at his home, where he was under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County Inc.
