    • Obituary of Janet R. Bettinger

      Janet R. Bettinger, age 93, resident of Pulaski, for the past 75 years, passed away Monday at her home. Janet was born February 17, 1924 in Watertown, the daughter of Roy and Iola Taylor Towne. She graduated from Belleville Union Academy. Janet married Howard "Bill" Bettinger on June 6, 1942 and he passed away March 23, 1988.

      Surviving are three daughters Karyl Moyer of Port Ontario, Rebecca (Frank) Artessa of Brattleboro, Abby (Steven) Colvin of Sandy Pond, three sons, Michael (Christine) Bettinger of Brewerton, Patrick (Carolyn) Bettinger of Boylston and David (Janelle) Bettinger of Sandy Pond, two brothers, William Towne of Lockport and Arthur Towne of Omaha, NE, 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at the Foster -Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park St., Pulaski, with burial in Ellisburg Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ellisburg Rural Cemetery, PO Box Ellisburg NY 13636.
