    • ELLSWORTH, Wis. - James W. Clear, age 75, of Ellsworth, Wis., formerly of the Fairmont area, passed away June 1, 2014, at his home in Ellsworth.

      Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn.

      Jim was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Granada, Minn., to Wilbur and Velva (Anderson) Clear. The family moved frequently during his childhood, so he attended several schools. From 1955 to 1958, he was enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he spent time in Korea. He spent most of his life as a truck driver, employed by many different companies over the years, before becoming an owner-operator later in his career.

      Survivors include: his sister, Jean Heine of Lewisville, Minn.; three step-children; one granddaughter; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy; his parents; and two brothers, Ben and John.
