    • Newspaper Obituary - Friday, March 3, 1967 Daily Sentinel - Rome, New York - Dies at 81 In Hospital - George Harper, 81, Upper Floyd Ave., a retired farmer, died early this morning in a Rome hospital after a long illness. Born March 17, 1885, in Phoenix, he was the son of George M. and Nora Horr Harper. He had resided in this vicinity most of his life. He married the former Mary DeBosse Gates April 10, 1937, in Oswego. She died July 4, 1946. He leaves a stepson, George Gates, Fulton. Mr. Harper was a Protestant. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Stokes. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Griffin & Aldridge are incomplete.
