Duane C. Stowell, 40, of 120 Palmer Drive, North Syracuse, formerly of the Mexico area, died Friday at his home after a long bout with cancer.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park St., Pulaski, with the Rev. Carol Keller officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra G.; two sons, Jason D., Pulaski, and Ryan C., North Syracuse; three daughters, Becki Sue Stowell and Kristen M. Stowell, both of North Syracuse, and Heidi Jo Stowell, Pulaski; his father, Charles G. Stowell, Mexico; a granddaughter; three brothers, Frederic C., Pulaski, Terry A., Mexico, and Barry O., Bishop, Texas; three sisters, Joanne A. Moffatt, Arlington, Va., Judith A. Workman and Gayle L. Bickerstaff, both of Pulaski, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A daughter, Erika, died in 1982.
Born March 21, 1953, in the town of Mexico, a son of Charles and Esther Everson Stowell, he graduated from Mexico Academy High School in 1971.
He married Sandra Bater Aug. 21, 1982, and had lived in North Syracuse since 1987. Prior to that, he had lived in Baldwinsville and Mexico for several years. Mr. Stowell was last employed by Midas Muffler in North Syracuse for nine years. He had previously owned and operated a dairy farm for many years in the Mexico area.
He was a member of Andrews Methodist Church of North Syracuse.
