March 31, 1943 Rome Sentinel - Rome, New York - Williamstown - Funeral services for William Britton, 61, of Ricard, near here, will be held tomorrow at his home and at the local Presbyterian Church. Burial willl be in Fairview Cemetery. Britton was almost instantly killed Saturday night when the car in which he was a passenger overturned near an overhead railroad crossing. He suffered a fractured skull. Britton was a native of Lee Center and was born May 12, 1881, a son of Charles and Mary Salter Britton. Besides his wife, he leaves twelve children: Mrs.Julia McLoughlin, Mrs. Mary Meagher, Mrs. Wilmina Ehresman, Mrs. Violet Howard, Mrs. Ada Wilson, Mrs. Elsie Wheeler, Frederic, William, Seymour, Fay, Robert and Rosella Britton. He leaves also one brother, George Britton, two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Wheeler and Mrs. Tillie Streun, Point Rock, also several grandchildren.
