    • Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, February 11, 1905 Wilkes-Barre Times - Died of Pneumonia - Mrs. Emily May, wife of William Brown, died last evening of pneumonia after a brief illness at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, at 425 River street. Deceased was 21 years of age and was well known and highly esteemed in this community. She was ill for the past two days and her condition yesterday seemed to be improved, but about 5 o'clock a change for the worse set in and the end came about 6:30. Her death was not expected and it came as a severe shock to the family. Besides her parents she is survived by her husband and one child and the following brothers: Ernest, Bert and Charles Smith, and one sister, Mrs. David E. Lewis, all of this place. The funeral is to be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services at the house. Rev. J. T. Matthews, of the Elm Congregational Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Hanover Green cemetery.

      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, February 15, 1905 Wilkes-Barre Times - Funeral of Mrs. William Brown - The funeral of Mrs. William Brown took place yesterday afternoon at 2:30 from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, on River street. The services were conducted at the house by Rev. J. T. Matthews, of the Elm Congregational church. There were many relatives and friends present to pay their last tribute of respect to the memory of the deceased. The Elm church choir sang a few selections. The relatives and friends sent many nice flowers. Harry Miller acted as flower bearer and the pass bearers were Chester Jenkins, George Hooven, William Evans, Lincoln Saunders, Thomas Stephens and Robert Johns. Interment was made in the Hanover Green cemetery.
