- Raymond R. Fargo, 79, of Watertown and formerly of Sandy Creek, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 6, 1946, in Henderson, New York, he was the son of Richard and Erma (Green) Fargo. He graduated from Henderson High School and later married Susan Stewart on October 12, 1963, at the Mannsville United Methodist Church. Together, they made their home in Sandy Creek, where they raised their four sons.
Raymond was a proud member of the Boilermakers Union of Oswego, where he worked for 35 years. In addition, he was a skilled meat cutter. A devoted fan of Syracuse sports, he also enjoyed following his grandson’s involvement in MMA fighting.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 62 years, Susan; four sons, Ricky John (Linda), James Patrick (Meg), Timothy Paul (Angela), and Robert Joseph (Barbara),; four grandchildren, Jesse Joel, Timothy Ray, Noah James, and Grace Margaret; two brothers, Louis and Ronald Fargo; and three sisters, Jane Fernandes, Mary Beardsley, and Dale Brett.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sandy Creek, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Gathering Barn at Old McDonald’s Farm in Sackets Harbor.
