- Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, June 20, 1903 Wilkes-Barre Record - Body Found In North River - Plymouth Young Man Who Had Been Missing Since December - The remains of Thomas Flemming, Jr., arrived in Plymouth from New York yesterday afternoon and were taken to the home of his wife's parents. The funeral will take place this morning at 10 o'clock, with a requiem high mass at St. Vincent's Church. Interment will be in St. Vincent's Cemetery, Plymouth. As near as can be learned the circumstances surrounding the death of the young man are as follows: On the afternoon of Dec. 8 last he was standing at the corner of a street near his home talking to an uncle, who left him, saying he was going to the shop to secure a few tools, both being plumbers, and would return in a few minutes. When he returned the young man was not there and he went to do the piece of work he had on hand, not thinking anything of his nephew leaving. When he did not return home that evening a search was instituted but without success. Everything possible was done to learn his whereabouts, but to no avail, and the hunt was at last given up. Last Tuesday the body was found floating in the North River and it was so badly decomposed that indentification was made possible only by a watch found on his person. There were no marks of violence visible and the coronor of New York City is of the opinion that he fell from a steamer unobserved. He is survived by his wife, his father, two brothers, Mrs. Hugh Kennedy, Mrs. Edward Kennedy, Mrs. John Hartman, Mary, Bridget, and Agnes.
