Newspaper Obituary - Sunday, October 2, 1994 Syracuse Herald-American - Syracuse, New York - Mae E. Stevens, 86, formerly of County Route 2, died Saturday at Cunningham Nursing Home at Loretto, Syracuse. Born in Middle Smithfield, Pennsylvania, she lived in Orwell from 1933 to 1972 when she moved to Pulaski. She graduated from Oneida Castle High School and attended Fordham University. She worked for Oswego County Sanatorium in Orwell for several years as a licensed practical nurse. She also did private duty nursing for many years. She served as clerk for the town of Orwell from 1960 to 1972. She was a member of the Orwell Union Church and its Dalked Class and the United Methodist Women. Her first husband, Orville A. Stevens, died in 1960. Surviving are her husband, Albert M. Stevens; four sons, Ernest O. of Pulaski, the Rev. Garrie F. of Mexico, Norman J. of Lacona and Wayne A. of Syracuse; two daughters, Barbara A. White of Pulaski and LouAnn Hedger of Adams; a sister, Kathryn Lundbohum of Painesville, Ohio; and 21 grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Orwell Union Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park Street, Pulaski. Contributions may be made to Orwell Union Church.
