Percy A. Lance, 66, of 235 Main St., died of a heart attack Monday while at work at F.X. Caprara Car Co. in Pulaski.
Mr. Lance drove tractor-trailers, retiring in 1989, and was employed part-time at the car dealership. He had lived in Smithville, Sandy Creek and Richland.
Born Jan. 14, 1941, in Watertown, son of Ralph and Madeline Montague Lance, he attended school in Henderson.
A marriage to Dale Ann Kellar ended in divorce. He married Maureen Dingman on Nov. 18, 1963.
He was an avid race car fan, a member of the Richland Fire Department and a former member of the Sandy Creek Fire Department.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Jeff, Sodus; a daughter, Shelley Ritz, Adams; three stepdaughters, Tina Layton, Sodus, Brenda Jones, Watertown, and Margaret Granger, Richland; three stepsons, William Lance, Canastota, Dale Lance, Sandy Creek, and Kenneth Lance, Adams Center; two sisters, Gloria Taylor and Shirley Murphy, both of Marion; two brothers, Glen Lance, Arizona, and George Lance, Florida; 38 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Fran Taplin officiating. Spring burial will be in Wesleyan Cemetery, Lacona.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
