John Clifton Seeley of Pulaski passed on December 26, 2024 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown NY after a brief illness. John was born March 22, 1944 the son on John H Seeley and Jane McCaw Ballou. John was a true friend to many. To those that knew him know he leaves behind a legacy of life well lived? John enjoyed many happy carefree days at boater’s beach as well as his favorite place, the Golden Nugget! While his bar stool will be empty, countless rounds of drinks will be had in his memory by his many friends at Ma Barkers. Also, John will be missed by his good friends Pat Kelly and Dave Kingsley. Per Johns wishes there will be no services in honoring John’s memory let us celebrate the life he lived and may he rest in peace. John….. “Well see ya when we see ya”
John was in the US Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Saigon, Vietnam. Upon return to the US he lived in Sandy Creek, and Buffalo where for a time he owned a business. Following his father's death in 1973 John assisted his Mother Jane in the managing of the family business, Seeley's Restaurant--a landmark of note on old US Rt. 11 just 2 miles North of Pulaski. Following the Restaurant's sale in December 1985 John began work with the Operating Engineers Union at the Fort Drum expansion project in Watertown. He was injured in 1995 and retired in 1999. He volunteers at Sandy Island Beach along the "Dune Patrol" near the wild life Sanctuary there. An active member of the VFW and Legion, John lives in Pulaski, New York.
