  Ruth E. Gates, 75 of Palermo, died Thursday. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Kenneth Jack Gates and her son-in-law, Terry Graves. Ruth is survived by, her four sons, Scott Gates, Steven (Debbie) Gates, Stanley (Anne) Gates and Shad Gates; her three daughters, Shelly (Perry) Martin, Shari (Chuck) Caufield and Stacey (Gerald) Dwyer; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 5 p.m. from the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico NY. Burial will be in the Vermillion Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the services.
