- Obituary of Carol Goodsell
Carol A. Goodsell, 77, of Fernwood died peacefully at home surrounded by family, Wednesday October 15th after battling an illness. She was born to the late Olive B. Krause in Huntington Long Island. Carol had been a long time member of Donald McFee Memorial Ambulance, volunteering her time for just over 20 years. She had also volunteered her days to Laura Sharp Elementary School's former Material Center. The Hemlock Haven family was a large part of her life as she worked every Christmas season making and decorating holiday goods. Bird watching, country living, cruising vacations with many of her friends and being a family fixture at Rainbow Shores were among her passions.
Carol is survived by her husband Dean A. Goodsell and four children: Fred Haseney of Los Angeles, Guy Haseney of Colorado, Kristen (Bruce) Haseney-Czerwinski of Lowville and Kerrie (K.Neil) Goodsell-Fossett of Fernwood and a stepson, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Goodsell of Fernwood. She is also survived by her siblings Alfred (late Carmella) Krause, Susan (Charles) Roberts and Joanne (Michael) Noble, all of Long Island. Carol leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jessica (Wade) Ortlieb, Samantha (Cody) Peters & Cassandra (Damian) Rombough, all of Lowville, Katie (Jared) Bradshaw of Utah, Shelby and Savannah Goodsell, and Rory Fossett, all from Fernwood, three great grandchildren: Niles and Nina Peters, and Serenity Rombough all of Lowville. Carol was predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Burkhard.
A memorial service will be held, 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25th, at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. The family would like to invite friends and family to join them at a reception to celebrate Carol's life at the Sandy Pond Sportsman Association immediately following the memorial service.
