Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, June 12, 1969 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Wyon H. Taplin Services Tuesday ¬Wyon H. Taplin, 78, of Canning Factory Road, died Friday June 6 in Veterans Hospital, Syracuse. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 10 at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home, with burial in Richland Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Brownell, representing the Richland Church of Christ, officiated. Born in Redfield, Taplin was the son of William H. and Alberta Yerdon Taplin, and was educated in Redfield schools. He was employed as a carpenter. He had resided in Pulaski since 1920. Surviving are his wife, Doris Wheeler Taplin; four sons, Wyon A. of Richland, James of California, Francis F. of Port Ontario, and Cardon D. of Pulaski; four daughters, Mrs. Noel (Wyona) Ballou of California, Mrs. Edward (Marietta) Wood of Rome. Mrs. George (Lavona) Johnson of Williamstown, and Mrs. William (Varda) Teska of Pulaski: a brother, Claude Taplin of Sandy Crock; 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Wyon was a World War I Veteran, serving in France. He died at the VA Hospital in Syracuse, NY. He was a Carpenter by trade and lived in Richland, NY.
